An update on our new brand.

Wellcome Connecting Science is a programme focussed on training, learning and engagement for both professional and public audiences. It is part of Genome Research Limited (GRL), the organisational family that also includes the Wellcome Sanger Institute, and the enterprise and innovation activities that take place on the Wellcome Genome Campus.

As part of GRL, Connecting Science plays a key role in delivering one of the elements of the organisation’s mission: fostering knowledge exchange and discussion of the scientific, medical and wider implications of genomes. And, as with the other parts of GRL, Connecting Science is privileged to receive long-term core funding from Wellcome.

Until recently our close relationship with the Sanger Institute and with Wellcome, wasn’t reflected in the visual elements that we used as part of our ‘branding’ or the look and feel of the materials that we produced. So we decided to improve how we communicate this message, with a refresh of our brand.

We’ve changed our full name to Wellcome Connecting Science, for brevity and to make our link to Wellcome more explicit, and adopted a visual style that is within the family of Wellcome funded organisations. You’ll see this manifesting itself in our new logo and other elements across all our digital platforms such as websites and social media.

Our Conference Centre will also now be operating under the name of Hinxton Hall, reflecting its status as a building with special architectural and historic interest. It will of course continue to offer outstanding facilities and meeting services, for our own courses and conferences programme, as well as be available for corporate hire.
